“School days, school days, dear old golden rule days.” As summer was winding down, the Lee Moberly Museum hosted a one-day display, School Memories. Participants brought in a number of items from their days in the classroom. School medals, classroom photos, awards, Commencement programs, and even a mortarboard were on display for visitors to enjoy. Despite scorching temperatures and smoke- filled skies, the Museum enjoyed hosting a good crowd who shared some of their own memories, prompted by items they saw that day.
The New Look at Old Middleton article this month takes a look back at a time when Middleton was much more agricultural. As a nod to that rural past, September’s special display will be fall flowers. We hope many of you will participate by bringing in a vase filled with beauty from your yard (or a friendly neighbor’s). You can bring your floral items to display from 10:00- 3:00 on Saturday, September 5. It is Labor Day Weekend, and many of you will be looking for a local activity to help celebrate the long weekend and the unofficial beginning of Fall. We hope to see you there!
